Full Internship Program 

We are thrilled to invite you to join the launch of our new and exciting internship program composed of a directed work study experience catering to specific academic and vocational interests, a career development course, and an immersive language acquisition experience. The program is coordinated by a member of the Study Abroad Program with extensive input by the career development course faculty member and on-site placement supervisors. Since each placement takes into consideration the specific professional and academic interests of the student, special efforts are made to place students according to these needs and interests.

Program Structure:

Internship (6 Credits) - 24 hours of work per week at the internship placement with an accompanying academic framework.

• To complement and enhance the students’ academic preparation by offering a better understanding of the professional demands and requirements of a particular career field.

• To learn about the social and cultural issues of Israel first-hand and reflect on how they impact the work of the organization.

• To encourage successful integration into an Israeli work-place environment.

 

Career Development Course (3 Credits) - The academic component running in parallel with the internship program. 

• The theoretical material connecting the real-life experiences that the students bring directly from their internship practice.

• Direct mentoring in helping the students apply management tools and skills to their work in order to develop their professional selves.

• Career planning and effective career decision making concerning short and long terms goals.

 

Intensive Hebrew Ulpan/ Intensive Modern Standard Arabic Program (5 Credits)

• Students will begin their program with a 4-week intensive course in one of Israel's two official languages.

 

Elective Course (3 Credits)

• Students are encouraged to choose an additional course from the courses offered in the Study Abroad Program of the International School.

 

**Students are required to be active learners in the internship placement, the career development course, and the language course. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a 14 academic credits (17 if they choose to register for an elective). Students cannot choose to do only one part of the program.

 

Extra-Curricular Program

Students are invited to join the many extra-curricular programs we offer in order to get to know the country and practice the skills they are learning in the different program components. An extensive program of trips and tours provides students with an exciting view of Israel's natural beauty and cultural richness. Lectures on various aspects of life in Israel, including politics, religion, are culture are also offered. These extra-curricular events take place on a weekly basis and students can register for any or all activities.

Our Social Activities Coordinators live in the campus dormitories and are available 24/7 to answer questions and needs.

 

Tuition and Fees:

Application Fee: $80

Internship Program Tuition: $7,700

Dormitories Single: $2,475

Combined Internship Program 

For Students interested in combining an internship with their Study Abroad program the International School offers students the opportunity to integrate career-related internship with their studies during their time on campus.

Students who are interested in an internship must apply before the semester begins. In addition to their application for admission, they will need to complete a supplemental application for the internship program. Upon admission to the International School and receipt of the internship program application, the Internship Coordinator will be in touch with the student about possible internship locations.

Students may enroll in one internship, fieldwork course or directed reading/research per semester.

Career Development Course:

The Career Development course is the academic component running in parallel with the professional internship placement program. The course offers direct mentoring in an enabling environment to help students apply management tools to their internship work. Students will have the opportunity to tie-in the theoretical/ academic material of the course, with the applied skills of their internship experience. The course will cover topics such as: aligning professional paths using diagnostic tools such as personal SWOT analysis and values clarification, navigating organizational dynamics in the workplace, effective communication and presentation skills, project management in the workplace and budgeting as an effective management tool, etc.
