Semester MSA (Modern Standard Arabic) Course العربية الفصحى

Fall 2017: October 17, 2017 - January 4, 2018.

Spring 2018: February 20 - May 31, 2018.

(Course level openings dependent on registration)

Students interested in learning Modern Standard Arabic are welcome to enroll in the semester course of the International School. During the academic semesters (September – January and February – June), Modern Standard Arabic classes meet three days per week for two hours each morning. Instruction is offered at the beginning through advanced levels. Admission is conditional upon completing an online placement test to make sure the appropriate level is offered.

As the Modern Standard Arabic classes are relatively small, each student receives a great deal of personal attention and has many opportunities to interact with fellow students and with the instructor. As an integral part of their language studies, all classes have a  weekly two hour conversational Arabic component.

Why Haifa? One the reasons why I came were because of the program offered by my University.

I have began taking Arabic for a semester back home... significant portion of the population is Arabic speaking and I heard about the diversity of the city and wanted to come to Israel.

What is the International School for me?  A place where I am constantly challenged to learn.

Taking Arabic at the University of Haifa was one of the best decisions I have made in my academic careers. I am immensely more confident in my writing and speaking skills after taking classes here. Learning the spoken dialect, as I did here, is just not possible at my home university.

The Arabic Language Program here has prepared me as a student and given me the incentive to keep learning Arabic."
