The course deals with the ways in which societies shape their shared perceptions of the past through various cultural agents, and especially the mass media, the press, television, documentary and feature movies etc. Within this context the course focuses on the construction of the Jewish and Israeli past and its pivotal role in the creation of a national Israeli identity.

This course is open to students who have had at least a year of university study.
